Tokyo Shine

A good friend and client wrote to me to share his experience at a shoe shine bar in Tokyo. If you’re looking for a great shoe shine in Tokyo this is the place to go.

On my recent trip to Japan, I received a fabulous shoe shine from the guys at Brift H. It was counter style, where you took off your shoes, had a drink and they shined your shoes on the bar counter. Anyway, I recommend that you try it, if you haven’t already, when you are in Tokyo again.

Thanks to Spencer C for sharing this with us. Good stuff, I”l definitely make it a point to visit next time I’m in Minami Aoyama.

I’m so curious what products were used in this video, especially the water pumper thing.

I like the water pump thing too and the round brush he uses to apply the polish.

    Steven,

You can easily find the round brush in the shop of shoes in Aoyama. Of course you can buy it in his shop. However, I do not know the water pump well, too. I ask him this time.

By the way, his site of the shop as follows,

I believe it was Neutral Wax. I think the order of application is:

    - Leather Conditioner
    - Shoe Cream
    - Color Wax / Neutral Wax

Although, it might feel like overkill, but you can’t argue with the shine he can get.

Received mine today. It’s a very high quality piece although probably over-kill unless you are a pro.

I knew that before I ordered it but I still wanted it just ’cause I think it’s so cool.
