The Robb Report asked us which chukka boot we like best for spring. Hands down it’s the Alden snuff suede 1493 on Flex Welt soles. Not only is the unlined suede and flex soles incredibly comfortably, the color is super versatile.
Thanks to The Robb Report for choosing an American classic chukka as an “Element of Style.”
We’ve been long time fans of the blog The Shoe Snob, so of course we were excited when Justin asked Steven to do an interview about Leffot. Justin Fitzpatrick is dedicated to great shoes and it shows. His blog is the most in depth exploration of the goings on in men’s footwear that you can find. Check out the interview HERE to find out about the store and our love of high quality shoes.
Many of you are of course familiar with Will Boehlke and his blog “A Suitable Wardrobe”. Will offers tips and guidance on topics that range from sartorial style to casual ease. ASW is among the top ranked men’s style blogs today, a must see.
Recently Will was in New York and paid a call on us. We had a wonderful visit, which can be seen in this short video produced by filmmaker Andrew Yamato. For those of you who have yet to see us in New York this video provides insight on the shop itself.
Thanks to Will and Andrew it was great to see you both. We greatly appreciate your kind words and support.
The Japanese magazine Free & Easy is the definitive publication for American traditional wears from motorcycles, to watches and fashion. Their articles and editorials have helped lay the groundwork for the current rebirth of American classics. The January 2011 issue features boots and in particular Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots. The staff dropped by Leffot in November for a visit and a chat.
We’re long time readers of Free & Easy and we couldn’t be more pleased to be included in this issue. If you’re looking for a copy in the U.S. contact the Kinokuniya bookstore in New York they’ve just received them and are around $20.
Two and a half years into it we’re beginning to gain some critical mass. In Thursday’s New York Times,Style section writer Jon Caramanica covers Leffot in the Critical Shopper column, a weekly column about the shopping experience in New York.
We’d like to thank Jon and the Times for selecting Leffot and naming us, “The city’s most thoughtfully executed multibrand shoe store for men.”
We’re sincere and passionate about what we do and we do it for all those who enjoy looking and feeling good in a great pair of shoes. Nothing validates our efforts more than the positive feedback we receive from our clients and critics like the Critical Shopper. Thank you all for your encouragement and support it means a great deal to us and keeps the fire burning.
Phaidon Publishers has released its 2010 Wallpaper* City Guideof 80+ cities around the world. They are designed to be concise and stylish a “Best Of” each city so to speak. The categories are divided among Landmarks, Hotels, 24 Hours, Urban Life, Architour, Shopping, Sports, and Escapes.
Of particular interest in the NYC guide is the Shopping section, which this year includes Leffot as one of only eleven outstanding shops featured; that’s pretty special. If you plan on visiting New York, this book is a must have. Pick up a guide of your favorite city or even the city where you live, they’re informative and up to the minute, an urban survival guide in about 100 pages or on youriPhone.
This week I had the pleasure of meeting William Boehlke the author of the widely read blog “A Suitable Wardrobe”. This is a wonderful blog, in which Will writes about all areas of men’s style and dress.
I noticed he was photographing our front window and when he came into the store we had a very delightful conversation about shoes and style.
