Headquartered in Vienna, Saint Crispin’s does not follow the Viennese tradition exclusively but produces a style, which is appreciated all over the world.
Their workshop is located in Brasov, Romania, where a small team of artisan’s, craftsmen and women have been highly trained within the company. Some key employees have been with them for nearly 20 years. This continuity reinforces the extremely high level of quality and consistency found in their shoes.
With an output of approximately 1,200 pairs per year Saint Crispin’s is one the smallest shoe manufactures in Europe but highly appreciated amongst shoe and fashion aficionados all over the world for their craftsmanship and design.
Since they can answer nearly any request regarding design, color, material used or just simple accessories like hand-stitched applications they excel at made to order shoes. That is because the business model is based on single pair orders, which allows them to respond to the request of customers with a delivery time between 7 to 9 weeks.
Corthay shoes are many things, elegant, streamline, and sophisticated are a few adjectives that come to mind. But one thing they are not and that is for the faint of heart.
Case in point is this pair of Arca in Framboise patent leather with silk ribbons and pom-poms. These are the kind of shoes that make you stop in your tracks and say “holy crap”. They’re just begging to be spooned over a dish of vanilla ice cream.
And the Bella in dark Lie de Vin with granny apple piping is a deep rich wine that settles over you like a tonic. It’s all about simple design, meticulous execution and the use of color and materials that set Corthay in a class of his own.
