Edward Green Midford

We like think of the Midford cap toe oxford as a  modern version of Edward Green’s Chelsea. It’s a classic English shoe no doubt made for elegant and business affairs, but two small differences give it a modern look.

Made on the 82 last, as opposed to the 202, it has a narrower, sleeker silhouette. The punching at the toe gives the shoe flair without being ostentatious.

I like the fact that it is a single leather vamp rather than a stitched on cap. It’s a subtle difference which is enough for me, it’s the only black shoe I own.

Edward Green Top Drawer

We hope to see many of you at the Edward Green trunk show tomorrow. Edward Green shoes are renowned for their fine craftsmanship and excellent fit, but Top Drawer shoes take it to the next level. They are the pinnacle of their collection.

Most Edward Green models can be crafted TD, which features Cuban heels, tighter and pronounced beveled waist, spade soles and finely turned edges at the waist. Not only are TD shoes extremely elegant and finely crafted, they fit the feet unlike any other EG ready to wear shoe.

If you’ve never had the opportunity to try a pair of Edward Green shoes you owe it to do so. If you are a long time wearer, why not make your next pair Top Drawer.

The Shoes in the Window

This week we have the new Edward Green Midford in Black Calf on the 82 last in our window. I think of this new cap toe as an updated version of the Chelsea. I also like the 82 last, which is more tapered and modern than the traditional 202 last.

In addition we are showing the classic English cashmere scarf and silk tie by Psycho Bunny, as well as the black travel polish kit by La Cordonnerie Anglaise Paris.

New Edward Green Arrivals

We’ve just received three new Edward Green models, of which two are new designs and one which is new to Leffot. The two new designs are the Claverton on the 82 last in Dark Oak and the Midford also on the 82 last in Black Calf.

I really like the sleeker lines of the 82 last on these two models. It has a much more stylish feel than the 202, it’s very elegant but also perfect for office wear.

The third style is the Ringwood in Edwardian Antique on the 888 last. This butterfly gusset shoe with medallion toe has a very continental boot look to it. It’s a great looking shoe especially with casual slacks such as cords, flannels or jeans.
