Saint Crispin’s MTO

Headquartered in Austria and made in Romania, all Saint Crispin’s shoes are handcrafted by a small team of artisans, craftsmen and women. Their shoes are quite possibly as close to a bespoke fit as you will find in a ready to wear shoe. And while that may sound like a big statement, in our opinion these shoes are top flight all the way.

We recently received a shipment of Saint Crispin’s Made to Order shoes and present them here for your viewing pleasure.

Headquartered in Austria and made in Romania all Saint Crispin’s shoes are handcrafted by a small team of artisans, craftsmen and women. Their shoes are quite possibly as close to a bespoke fit as you will find in a ready to wear shoe. And while that may sound like a big statement, in our opinion these shoes are top flight all the way.

The attention to detail is evident in all aspects of the shoes, not least of which is the fit. Saint Crispin’s designs their shoes with human engineering in mind. The heels are canted, which is the outside of the heel is slightly lower than the inside, as is the top line under the ankles, thus cradling the natural resting position of your foot.

The same attention to design goes into the styling of the shoes as well. Saint Crispin’s shoes are some of the most unique shoes produced, full of individualism and character.

The company’s business model is based on custom shoe orders, as such you will be offered a wide variety of models, leathers and fits including individualized lasts. Your shoes will be delivered to you in approximately 8-10 weeks.

This is the only Saint Crispin’s show in New York. We encourage you to take advantage of this special opportunity to meet Phillip Car and check out his extraordinary collection of shoes.

Wholecut Shoes

The beauty of a wholecut shoe is it’s clean smooth silhouette and unbroken lines. These are shoes made from a single piece of leather, which wraps around the feet like a baby’s swaddling blanket. As a result the fit is so comfortable you may never want to wear another style of shoe.

Wholecuts are more commonly made by English and European shoemakers, not so much by American manufacturers. Here are a few examples of some of the best in class.

Gaziano & Girling Cooper, Deco Last, Vintage Chestnut

St. Crispin Simply, Chiseled Last, Antique Burgundy

Alfred Sargent Milton, AS53 Last, Black Calfskin

Edward Green Newbury, 888 Last, Burgundy Crup

Corthay Casanova, Sculpted Last, Vieux Bois Box Calf

St. Crispin 546, Riva Last, Dark Brown/Beige Piping

Gaziano & Girling Sinatra, TG73 Last, Black Calfskin

Corthay Belphegor, Sevres Last, Lie de Vin Box Calf

Saint Crispin’s 505 MTO

Saint Crispin’s makes the double monk strap shoe like it makes every shoe, with its own uniquely European style and flair.

We carry Saint Crispin’s double monk, the 505, in a rich snuff suede, but one of our customers was mesmerized by another unique advantage of Saint Crispin’s shoes: shrunken calfskin. The combination is stunning, if we do say so ourselves.

Our Trunk Show with Saint Crispin’s will be on April 23rd and 24th this spring. Please stop by to order shoes like the one’s below.
