At the height of their popularity during the fifties and sixties, Saddle Shoes were a staple of preppy Ivy Leaguers. The preppy doctrine Take Ivy includes an Ivy Wardrobe Directory, which lists the following shoes. These preppy pairs are made for us on the Barrie last with oil-soaked flex soles. They’re light as a feather and look great with jeans and khakis, as well as gray or navy slacks.
We are currently accepting pre-orders for the next delivery of two Alden boots and a pair of longwings. Our popular captoe boot in natural CXL and shortwing boot in snuff suede are available again, as is a pair of spectators in tan and white calfskin. Arrival is “anticipated” late spring 2014, however it may be longer.
Pre-orders will be done in two stages. Stock D and E widths can be ordered with a non-refundable, non-transferable 20% deposit through our online shop. You will be contacted once the shoes arrive for final payment.
Sizes that are not available on our pre-order page can be requested by contacting us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, January 6th. We will advise you if Alden can make a pair in your requested size. We hope this policy makes it easier for you to get the Alden makeups in sizes that are difficult to find.

Quoddy Bluchers are an everyday casual shoe, made for comfort, ease of wear, and stylistic and practical versatility. The camp soles are low profile and durable, and the natural chromexcel is soft and hard-wearing, making the shoes as appropriate for business casual as for a hike in the country. Their unique scalloped edge gives them an individual look without encroaching on their practical nature.
We’ve just restocked these shoes in Natural Chromexcel, and they’re also available in Black CXL and Brown CXL. All three will look great with jeans, khakis, or sock-less with shorts.
What is a belt? Is it merely a device to hold your pants up, we think not after all you could wear suspenders for that. Done well in quality leather it’s that detail of clothing like quality shoes, which enhance your outfit. And at the end of the day doesn’t it all come down to the details? We mixed it up a bit with these new Horween x Leffot Elston belts.
The belts feature Horween leathers and Old English Brass buckles. All belts and buckles are made in the USA and sold exclusively at Leffot.
It’s Horween Chromexcel season and we’ve got it coming out of our ears. Next in line is our own Beefroll Penny Loafers: Brown CXL with soft-as-air crepe soles as well as Natural CXL with a standard leather sole.
Chromexcel, often abbreviated as “CXL,” is a waxy, durable “pull-up” leather tanned by Horween Leather Co. in Chicago. It is soft and supple with the first wear.
Paired with plantation crepe soles, this is the perfect slip-on shoe for those lazy days when your feet are tired and you don’t want to bend over to lace anything up.
The classic Beefroll style, adds simple flair to a traditional design. These shoes are hand sewn in Maine and feature no nonsense Yankee quality and style.

Alden first introduced us to Horween Natural Chromexcel in January 2010. Since then our Natural Longwing’s and Natural Indy boots have become something of a staple at Leffot and we have received delivery of both models.
Natural CXL is a wonderful leather the color is totally versatile and goes great with denim, or khaki for a perfect casual look. With wear and care it develops a patina that looks lived in and rich and much better with age. Here’s an example of our Natural LWB.
The LWB is on the Barrie last and the Indy is on the Trubalance.
