We love our Longwings from Alden; each is like one of our children beautiful in it’s own way. The design key of this particular model is its ability to deal with harsh weather with grace. and incredible comfort.
We’ve taken the classic Alden LWB design and given it all of the details needed for maximum durability and comfort.
That means high-traction natural plantation crepe soles, pre-stitched reverse welts, water-resistant oiled Kudu leather, agatine eyelets, and cordo-hyde laces.
Snuff suede, doesn’t every shoe simply look better in it? The Alden Longwing Blucher is no exception. These shoes are a pleasure to wear not only because they’re so damn good looking, but they also feel like slippers.
The combination of velvety soft suede and the flexible double waterlock soles will have you wanting to wear these everyday.
The Longwing Blucher is not exclusive to Alden, in fact it’s been in production in the US and UK for many years. It is however a very American style and is often referred to around Northampton as the American wingtip. Which is to say this shoe has All American staying power.
Alden of New England has perfected the use of shell cordovan in making the LWB. One of the ways they do that is by using cordovan tanned only by Horween Leather Company in Chicago Illinois. It is with this cordovan that we designed our two new LWB made expressly for Leffot.
Color 8 and Black shell cordovan is the backbone of any shoe collection and yet some men are without either. If you are a lover of cordovan and longwings these shoes are designed for you.

Topping off our week of Alden shoes is a new version of our Greenwich boot.
Once again we’ve taken a classic look and added a little roughness. With Alden’s wingtip boot design we’ve utilized reverse chamois leather. Using the backside of this oiled leather reveals a unique, almost sueded texture. Chamois leather is a “fat-liquored” nubuck by Horween, made for increased durability and water resistance. With a commando sole, this is a great boot to liven up those dull winter days on the horizon.
This is a special boot, made expressly by Alden for Leffot.
Alden first introduced us to Horween Natural Chromexcel in January 2010. Since then our Natural Longwing’s and Natural Indy boots have become something of a staple at Leffot and we have received delivery of both models.
Natural CXL is a wonderful leather the color is totally versatile and goes great with denim, or khaki for a perfect casual look. With wear and care it develops a patina that looks lived in and rich and much better with age. Here’s an example of our Natural LWB.
The LWB is on the Barrie last and the Indy is on the Trubalance.

Pierre Corthay is not just a cool guy he also happens to design positively killer shoes. Take the Vendome for instance, a wingtip both suave and svelte with a low profile wing and a sleek chiseled toe, which is typical of the sophisticated styling that is signature Corthay.
And if style alone weren’t enough he is a master of color, developing patinas to create truly unique and very special (read) “limited” masterpieces.
The color of our latest Vendome is Graphite, a cool dark slightly metallic grey that is subtly enhanced by the lighter inside edge of the punching.
Style note: These shoes look particularly fine with a charcoal/white pinstripe suit. Trust us we’ve seen it.
