Fall 2016 Trunk Shows

Events

We organize trunk shows with our vendors twice a year. They are a fantastic opportunity to meet the artisans or their representatives who are extremely knowledgeable about their products. It is also an excellent chance to see first-hand many sample styles for custom orders.

Chicago

Edward Green trunk show – October 24 and 25

Edward Green

with Fredrik Blindheim
October 24 and 25, 10am – 6pm

Edward Green is regarded by many to make “the finest shoes in all of England for the discerning few.” A more classic English shoe would be hard to find. Having been in business for more than 120 years, Edward Green has become discreetly famous for the finest welted shoes.

Our EG shows are tremendously popular. We present the largest selection of samples assembled at any Edward Green show in North America. You will have your choice of models, lasts, leathers, colors, and soles for your made to order pair.

Saint Crispin's trunk show – November 14 and 15

Saint Crispin’s

with Phillip Car
November 14 and 15, 10am – 6pm

Headquartered in Austria and made in Romania, all Saint Crispin’s shoes are handcrafted by a small team of artisans. Their shoes are quite possibly as close to a bespoke fit as you will find in a ready to wear shoe. While that may sound like a big statement, in our opinion these shoes are top flight all the way.

The attention to detail is evident in all aspects of the shoes, not least of which is the fit. Saint Crispin’s designs their shoes with human engineering in mind. The heels are canted, which means the outside of the heel is slightly lower than the inside, as is the top line under the ankles, thus cradling your foot’s natural resting position.

The company’s business model is based on custom shoe orders, as such you will be offered a wide variety of models, leathers, and fits including individualized lasts. Your shoes will be delivered to you in approximately 8-10 weeks.

Salvatore Ambrosi trunk show – November 14 and 15

Ambrosi Napoli

with Salvatore Ambrosi
November 14 and 15, 10am – 6pm

We’re pleased to bring Salvatore Ambrosi, maker of the finest bespoke trousers, to Leffot for his first Chicago trunk show. Renowned for their impeccable fit and comfort, his trousers feature extensive hand work, an extended waist band, double pleats, and a button cuff.

The Ambrosi family have been trouser makers for the past four generations. The Ambrosi legacy began during the economically testing time of the Second World War. Antonio Ambrosi seized the opportunity to provide practical work trousers in a time when formal suiting and sports jackets were considered frivolous. When Italy returned to normalcy, Ambrosi produced trousers for the most respected tailoring houses in Naples.

Corthay trunk show – December 8 and 9

Corthay

with Randy Federgreen
December 8 and 9, 10am – 6pm

Corthay is arguably one of France’s most dynamic shoemakers; his shoes are elegant and ultra sophisticated, like small works of art. He began his shoemaking career at Les Compagnons du Tour de France, a venerable crafts guild. He later worked for John Lobb Paris before taking over as atelier head at Berluti. In 1990 he struck out on his own and has not looked back.

In 2010 he was awarded the honor of “Master of Art” by the government of France and creates shoes that are simply genius. The Master of Art designation of France, while not widely known in the States, is not bestowed lightly. In short, it means that the individual or firm is a cultural icon.
